The villa’s main living environment is a traditional Javanese joglo with an elevated ceiling of intricate wooden beams that have endured the test of time. No detail has been overlooked to recreate the splendour of this colonial styled homestead.

Pre-loved timber furnishings are complemented by elaborate chandeliers. The walls are lined with classic black and white photos depicting early times across the Indonesian archipelago. Villa Kalyana is a visual feast for travellers who appreciate fine things.

The Villa

Tropical Sophistication

The sheer size of Villa Kalyana lends itself to exclusive gatherings such as a private wedding or some other type of celebration. A formal dining area seats up to 10 guests and is the perfect alternative for a catered corporate dinner of top executives.

Similarly, Villa Kalyana can accommodate a small group choosing to experience the freedom of a private residence that truly embodies tropical sophistication. The villa offers unique spaces to socially interact as well as quiet niches for moments of contemplation.

Suite Indulgence

The master bedroom is another Javanese joglo designed as a restful sanctuary. It is a haven of refined elegance filled with cherished antiques and other curios. Bathed in natural sunlight, this bedroom has its own terrace with direct garden access.

The en-suite bathroom is a continuation of Villa Kalyana’s opulence. There is an old fashioned claw-foot bathtub and generous vanity with hand-painted basins. While an oversized rain shower recess promises spa-styled bathing indulgence.

Bedroom Splendour

Two additional bedrooms are located off a long picture filled corridor. Both are spaciously appointed with a décor of rich textiles and artistic embellishments. Each features a mezzanine loft that can be used to accommodate additional guests.

The same feeling of luxury is evident in both en-suite bathrooms yet they are not identical. An oversized bathtub, outdoor rain shower and a distinctive vanity are the common elements.

Charming Garden

Villa Kalyana has the privilege of a vast garden with a manicured lawn and different species of tropical flora. The extended length swimming pool has been designed for laps and is surrounded by a timber sundeck with ample outdoor furniture for entertaining.

A small gladak (Javanese wooden pavilion) placed next to the pool makes a great playhouse for children or a shady spot to retreat from the sun. Traditional glass lanterns hang from the gladak's timber rafters to project a soft glow over the garden after dark.
